El Faro pres. Commune: Weng Chia X Jack Yeap
Droolworthy.TV is very, very proud to bring you an amazing and unique dining event on the 19th of March, 2016.
Commune is a culinary collaboration between two of Penang’s greatest chefs, Weng Chia and Jack Yeap, who will be “communing” in El Faro’s kitchen to create a one-off 6-course menu for 30 lucky diners.
Diners will be seated in a “communal” fashion, to encourage interaction and communication as we believe the the three ingredients for a memorable dining experience are great food, great wine and great company.
We are limiting the event to only 30-pax as we want to keep it quite cozy and intimate, and the chefs want to be able to give their full attention and effort to each and every dish.
Weng Chia is a celebrated chef who has trained at 2 Michelin Star restaurants and has never ceased to wow diners with his innovative Japanese/French-fusion cuisine. His recent stint at La Vie in Penang saw the restaurant being fully-booked every night of the week by foodies who were eager to sample his simple but elegant dishes.
Jack Yeap is the proprietor of El Faro, without a doubt Penang’s premier tapas restaurant. Having trained at fine dining institutions like Les Amis in Singapore (2016 Asia’s Top 50 Restaurants Ranked #12), Jack came back to Penang four years ago with the intent of bringing a new level of fine but casual dining to his hometown.
Glassware on the night will be graciously provided by Spiegelau Malaysia/Chefutensile
